OUR PROGRAMS
We truly believe that family is the answer to preventing children from ending up in orphanages. In fact, studies show that 80% of children growing up in orphanages worldwide have at least one living parent (that means they are not orphans!).
We spent 7 years focused on orphan care programs, and in 2020 shifted completely to Family Strengthening and preventing orphanhood in the first place.
In China specifically, 98% of children who end up in orphanages have special needs. Social stigmas, financial pressures, and lack of resources make it incredibly difficult for families to raise a child with special needs.
When families get the support and guidance they need to raise their child at home, the need to surrender their child to an orphanage disappears.
