Happy Dragon Boat Festival, or 端午安康 (Duānwǔjié ānkāng)!
This Spring, Hope Station partnered with an international school in Chengdu to host a day of connection, joy, and learning. The school warmly welcomed several of our children and their families for a unique opportunity: to build friendship and understanding between children from different backgrounds, including those with disabilities.

The day began with a lunch of pizza and snacks kindly provided by the international school, followed by a campus tour where families were shown various facilities and classrooms. One highlight was the music room, which featured a wide range of Western instruments. Our children shared about their own musical traditions while listening to the international students do the same. What began as curiosity turned into a cultural exchange. Soon, everyone was lining up to try playing the new instruments.

The afternoon continued with block-building, drawing, ball games, and crafts. At the end of the day, each family received a thoughtful gift bag from the international students, along with a warm goodbye: “We hope to see you again next time!”

It was more than a school visit. It was a beautiful reminder of inclusion, kindness, and the joy of learning together.
We’re so grateful to the international school for opening their doors, and to you, for walking alongside every child on their journey.
Thank you for being part of our community!
