We’re so encouraged to see these families thriving — accessing therapy, home visits, and caregiver support they never had before. For many of these children, it’s their first time ever receiving physical, speech, or behavioral therapy.
And it’s only possible because of Hope Station’s generous supporters.
But this is only part of the story.
For children to thrive, their families must thrive too. That’s why we offer parents counseling, one-on-one training, personalized guidance, and a community that reminds them: you are not alone.
Why is this needed?
In China, children with disabilities are often the most vulnerable — and the most overlooked. Many families feel so unsupported, they believe that placing their child in an orphanage is their only option. But we know better. Children raised in institutions are more likely to struggle socially, emotionally, and physically. One study showed that 1 in 10 die by suicide and 1 in 3 become homeless as adults.
We want to serve every family, but our resources are limited.
