    Preventing orphanhood in China
Serving children with disabilities and their families
Meet the families waiting for sponsors ⬇️

Did you know that 80-90% of children in orphanages Did you know that 80-90% of children in orphanages have at least one living parent? Many families want to care for their children, but lack resources, support, and education force them to make impossible choices.

✨ This is why Family Strengthening matters. By providing financial aid, therapy, parent training, and emotional support, we help families stay together—where children belong.

No family should have to choose between love and survival. 💙

He has autism, just like his older brother. Their mom has to stay home to care for them, and their dad is the only one able to work.

But through the behavioral and music therapy XinYang has been getting through Hope Station, he has been shining. ✨

But to sustain this, they still need sponsors. Could you be the one to help this amazing family keep going? 💛

💛 Meet Hao Hao. He’s a sweet 5-year-old boy 💛 Meet Hao Hao.

He’s a sweet 5-year-old boy who lives in Chengdu with his loving grandma.

Hao Hao has Cerebral Palsy, which affects his muscle tone throughout his whole body. Even though he’s already 5, he can’t sit up on his own yet.

His parents live in the countryside and love him deeply, but his grandma is the one caring for him day to day — and it’s hard doing it alone.

Through family sponsorship, Hao Hao can get the therapy and home visits he needs to grow and thrive, and his family can get the support they need to care for him.

💛 Hao Hao still needs 1 more sponsor.

Will it be you?

    Here’s the TRUTH ⬇️ 80% of children living Here’s the TRUTH ⬇️

80% of children living in orphanages have at least one living parent. That’s 4 out of 5 children labeled as “orphans” that are NOT ORPHANS.

So why are they there❓

Children can be PULLED away from their families for many different reasons:
⚠️ Poverty
⚠️ Disability
⚠️ Lack of resources for parents
⚠️ Social pressures
⚠️ Conflict/war
⚠️ Natural Disasters

Then there are also PERCEIVED benefits that PUSH families to put their child into an orphanage:
☑️ Opportunity for education
☑️ Medical care
☑️ Basic needs met
☑️ Treatment for disabilities

But the data doesn’t lie:
Children growing up in institutional settings have significantly slower development in all areas: physical, cognitive, emotional, social, and more.

(And yes, “good” orphanages also see these outcomes.)

▶️ WHAT IF we could prevent children from being separated from their families in the first place?

▶️ WHAT IF the 20% of children that are in fact orphans could be placed in family based care?

▶️ WHAT IF we could eradicate the need for orphanages completely?

Surely, it’s a process. The reality is, there are still orphanages, and orphans, around the world. And those children do not deserve to be ignored.

But next time you have some dollars to donate, or you’re planning a trip to serve children overseas, think about how you can use your resources to support FAMILIES….

❌ Instead of creating more orphans.
